Too
much fear to do something.
We might have felt this human feeling of being
afraid of something, however as we have heard; anything in excess is good.
People can develop something more extreme than fear; a bad memory they have
lived before can be one of this causes and it is not something they can stop
since it is their brain that actives it. As result, people feel concerned about
everything, they felt in constantly danger, asking questions without answer
because of fear to do something wrong or to experiment a bad memory again. People need to live a pleased life. However,
there are many people who have not as easy social life as they want because
they are extremely aware of their surroundings. A thousand negative thoughts
are in their mind, many options and results before doing something cross in
their mind, they cannot express what they want to say, why does it happen?
Studies have shown that bullying has negative
effects in one person´s life which can be psychological disorders, social
problems, problems with adaptation, negative self-evaluation, and depression.
However, there is one problem that many people might have felt and it is fear,
but when a person has suffered bullying in his/her life he/she tends to be more
fearful, tense, shy, insecure and anxious, Blood,
G. et al. (2011). Certainly,
bullying can cause those problems according to Dzierzak,
L. in words of Lewis., (2008) “We learn to become
fearful through experience with the fear event, or learning from those people
around us like our parents, our siblings, our colleagues”, that means our
actions follow a stimulus in this case bullying. Feeling those emotions is not
because we are aware of them it is just a biological procedure which starts in
our brain. This procedure stat in our sensory cortex, our cells transfers’
information, then the hippocampus retrieves memories; experiences we have lived
before, the amygdale decodes emotions then determine the possible treat and
actives the hypothalamus, in studies of Layton,
J., (2011).
In my readion of an interview
of Kaplan, J.; Roemer, L., (2011) and
according to Crosta, (2009) and Swearer,
(2011), if we have lived a scary situation, feeling fear is normal, however
things might not look as ordinary as we think when we experiment extremely
fear. Bullying; as we read before, cause a extremely fear, moreover if this
person has not overcome it; there will be a constantly battle between fear and
confidence. In such maner, this person can became anxious; anxiety is the
feeling of pertubation, it makes people aware of everything arround them, it
makes them to ask many questions before they do an action as result it allows
an inevitably worry. One such example of anxiety caused by fear is Social
Anxiety Disorder which is a fear of social environments where people commonly
do not feel confortable and confine theirselves making it difficult to relate
with people. One of its causes has to be with psychological condition;
embarrassing social experiences that happened before or being neglected for
peers Zimmermann, (2014).
Making
questions constantly, feel afraid of being judge by others and being caught in
their own thoughts of “I cannot talk in public” those are some symptoms of
Social Anxiety Disorder. Gina presented symptoms since she was at school at first
thought it was shyness; her extreme fear and anxiety caused her problems in her
work so much so that she thought she was crazy. Also, Gail a woman who is
diligent in her job yet she is not successful in her social life, she found
herself depressed and bored. She did not feel comfortable of going out alone
because of what people would say, until she tested herself following
instruction of a psychologist. She went to the movies alone where she noticed
that nobody paid attention at her, even more she did not pay attention to
anybody, there she found she was over thinking things and from there her
rehabilitation started Markway, B. (2013-2014).Those examples show how
Social Anxiety Disorder can affect social people life but what is more it can
affect their own life by feeling insecure, nevertheless it has a solution which
is facing problems and overcome them.
Certainly, being afraid of something is
an unwanted feeling, moreover watching how people delight a social life and
they do not is awkward. The feeling of something would happen in any time,
having this sensation of eyes watching every action they do or thinking what
people think about them even if people do not do it is the worst thing. Feeling
this way is not comfortable for people who feel it because they do not feel as
they fit in society. Anxiety leaves them with the only option of lock their
selves; from this way they cannot be hurt for something they would not be
afraid of anything. Besides there is no way out, everything happens because of
something in this case, because of their memories; commonly a bad one, which
dwells in their mind that means, is a bare human action. Finally, it is not
option than accepting this human feeling and as everything in life it can be held.
